Everybody knows s'mores, right?
A s'more is a traditional nighttime campfire treat popular in the United States and Canada, consisting of a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker.
But, what happens when you take the traditional recipe to the next level and turn it inside-out? Well, I experimented with a new recipe & the results are delicious. These inside-out s'mores have everything you love about traditional s'mores, but you don't need a campfire to whip up a batch.
Here are the ingredients:
5 Jumbo Jet-puffed Marshmallows
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup of mini milk chocolate chips (or any dipping chocolate)
3 graham crackers
How to make them:
- Take your marshmallows and core out the center, but don't go all the way to the bottom. You will be stuffing the marshmallow just like you would stuff a pepper. I just used an unserrated steak knife to go around the inside of the marshmallow and then pulled out the inside of the marshmallow. I think that's the only way to do it.
- Then, you're going to make a graham cracker krispie treat. Just melt 2 tbs of butter in a microwave safe bowl. I used half power at 45 seconds. Then, add the insides of the marshmallows to the melted butter and microwave until gooey. I microwaved this for an additional 45 seconds on half power
- Add 3 crushed graham crackers to the butter and melted marshmallow mixture. Then, stir it up until it's thoroughly combined and stuff the marshmallows with mixture.
- Once you've filled all of the marshmallows with the graham cracker mixture, dip the marshmallows in melted chocolate.
You can drizzle them in chocolate, or sprinkle them with some mini chocolate chips.
These jumbo inside-out s'mores are really rich, so you probably only need to make one per person. They are a fun dessert that is so simple to make. Yum!
