Toothpicks + Mini Marshmallows = Easy Indoor Kids Activity

I saw someone do this on the KC Kids Fun Facebook page, and I thought it was a great idea.  We already had toothpicks and mini marshmallows in the kitchen.  For me, they seem to be staples that are always in our pantry.  If you don't already have them, be sure to write them on your shopping list so that you can surprise your kids with this activity sometime soon!

Just show your kids how to get started and they quickly catch on.

Both of my little guys were completely intrigued and had a blast making their own creations.

This kept my kids busy for a long time. They couldn't wait to show their creations to Daddy when he got home from work.

Even though you're just playing with marshmallows and toothpicks, it's also a great learning experience  as the kids figure out what they need to do to make their marshmallow houses stand tall & strong.  Next time we do this, I'm going to try and find some of the colored toothpicks or maybe colored mini marshmallows too.  No matter what, this is definitely an activity that we'll be doing in my house again!
